FFL TRANSFER INFORMATION

Certain products require transfer through a licensed Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) dealer. Here's everything you need to know.

WHAT REQUIRES AN FFL TRANSFER?

Under federal law, certain items must be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer before they can be delivered to you. At JRC Guns, the following product types require an FFL transfer:

  • Complete firearms and serialized receivers
  • Short-barreled rifle (SBR) components requiring NFA registration
  • Any item regulated as a firearm under the National Firearms Act (NFA)
  • Suppressors and silencers

Non-regulated parts, accessories, and optics ship directly to your address and do not require an FFL transfer.

HOW THE TRANSFER PROCESS WORKS

  1. 1

    Place your order

Complete your purchase on jrcguns.com. During checkout, note that an FFL transfer is required for your item.

  2. 2

    Find a local FFL dealer

Locate a licensed FFL dealer near you. Most local gun shops are FFLs and accept transfers for a small fee (typically $20–$50). You can search at gunbroker.com/ffl-finder or ask your local gun shop.

  3. 3

Send us your dealer's FFL copy

Ask your chosen FFL dealer to email a copy of their current FFL license to [email protected]. Include your order number in the subject line.

  4. 4

We ship to your FFL dealer

Once we receive a valid FFL copy, we will ship your order directly to your dealer's address on file with the ATF.

  5. 5

    Pick up at your dealer

Your dealer will contact you when the item arrives. You'll complete the required ATF Form 4473 background check and any applicable state paperwork before taking possession.

SHIPPING TO YOUR FFL DEALER

All FFL-required items are shipped via UPS to the address listed on your dealer's FFL license. We cannot ship to a personal address for regulated items — no exceptions.

Orders requiring FFL transfer are processed within 3–10 business days of receiving a valid FFL copy. If we do not receive an FFL copy within 14 days of your order, we will contact you to arrange next steps.

Transfer fees charged by your local FFL dealer are separate from your JRC Guns order and are paid directly to that dealer.

IMPORTANT LEGAL NOTICE

It is your sole responsibility to ensure that any firearm or regulated item you purchase is legal to own and possess in your state and locality. Laws vary significantly by jurisdiction. JRC Guns reserves the right to cancel any order that cannot be legally completed in the buyer's state.

JRC Guns is a licensed FFL manufacturer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. All transfers are conducted in accordance with ATF regulations.

If your background check is denied, the item cannot be released to you. In that event, please contact us at [email protected] to discuss your options.
